Coaching Philosophy
Northwest Family YMCA Marlin’s
Team Philosophy
The Northwest Family YMCA Marlin’s Swim Team is a small progressive program based on teaching the fundamentals of competitive swimming. Our aim is to introduce a swimmer to the joys of swimming at an early age so that they will develop a passion for this great sport/exercise for the rest of their lives.
As coaches we promise to do our best to develop the swimmers full potential in the water as well as role-model the appropriate character that is expected of the YMCA (Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility). By scheduling fun yet challenging workouts (that include endurance, speed, specific, and dry land training) we will foster healthy behaviors that can set the tone for enjoying physical exercise throughout life.
The focus of this team is to work toward personal improvement and although it is brought out in a competitive environment the success of our team does not depend on the amount of swimmers who qualify for regional competitions but on the amount of swimmers that come back year after year anxious to work hard and pursue their swimming goals.
We love to Swim!
We are the Marlin’s Swim Team.
